It’s not your imagination. I’ve noticed it too. People used to be kinder. People used to want to help one another succeed and be happy. People have changed. A pink, pneumatic river of slime is coursing through the abandoned, broken subway tunnels of New York City, infecting its residents with selfish and self-centered absorption and who are we gonna call? Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, and Harold Ramis are, sadly, either passed on or - by all accounts - retired from ghostbusting, so I guess it’s up to us.

What if, I mean WHAT IF we used a direct energy weapon to defeat it; to infect it like a computer virus? It has to be something totally baffling to its pink, gooey, malevolent AI brain. That will buy us time. Let’s call it empathy. Thanks. I just made that up.

Yeah, I hear you. There are just SO many people. Everyone is pushing, striving, climbing. Or else they’re not and seriously -- snore, right? But let me ask you a question: Have you found yourself wondering at different points in time, in the past few years, What’s WRONG with people? Have you had conversations with others where you voiced this concern? Well I’m here to tell you you are not crazy. We’re infected with pink goo and I, for one, am going to do what I can to stop it.

Here’s my contribution. I’m writing a series of books called “Beautiful Minds.” Each book will feature some awesome New Yorker that you probably saw a thousand times on the way to work and never thought twice about. But they have a story to tell and it’s a good one! Once you hear their story, you might not ever look at them the same way again and you know what? Maybe you’ll never look at anyone the same way again, because you’ll be wondering, “What’s her story?”

And that is just one way we’re going to defeat and neutralize the pink goo. We’re going to notice one another and appreciate one another. Once that is achieved, all the neutralized goo will be donated to Staples, where it will be converted into erasers to be donated to third world countries. I know, it’s a crazy plan, but it just might work.
